Mechanical Services, Not Just A/C!
When it comes to car servicing, many drivers feel uncertain about which type of service their vehicle needs. Terms like ‘minor service,’ ‘logbook service,’ ‘major service,’ and ‘general service’ can sometimes add to the confusion.
The good news? At Geelong Auto Air, your car is in expert hands. Our team of skilled mechanics is ready to handle any car issue with precision and care. Our fully equipped workshop is designed to meet all your vehicle’s maintenance needs.
Let’s start by clearing up the difference between a general service and a logbook service.
Logbook Service
A vehicle logbook is a guide provided by the manufacturer, outlining the specific maintenance your car requires at various intervals. A logbook service follows these manufacturer guidelines, ensuring your car stays in optimal condition. This service may include:
- Changing engine oil & oil filter
- Brake inspection and adjustment
- Checking steering and suspension
- 40-point vehicle inspection
- Topping up under-bonnet fluid levels
- Computer battery test
- Checking tire pressures
- Inspecting radiator hoses and fan belts
- Checking lights
When Do I Need a Logbook Service?
For most new cars, logbook servicing is recommended every 6 months or every 10,000 km, whichever comes first.
At Geelong Auto Air, we’re authorized to perform logbook servicing, meaning you can skip the high dealership fees while keeping your manufacturer’s warranty intact.
